FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


1. How much are your cakes?
Because all of our cakes are priced individually by the complexity of their design and number of servings, we do not have a standard price list. For BASIC buttercream, the price STARTS at $2.00/serving.

2. Wal-Mart sells their cakes for $15! Can you beat that price? 
I can't match that price, much less beat it!  You can't get the same cake at Wal-Mart that you get from me. That cake at Wal-Mart was made months ago, flash-frozen, and shipped to the store, where an employee working as quickly as he/she could frosted it with icing from a bucket, and maybe added some airbrushing or buttercream roses. That employee probably had 50 other cakes to complete in the same shift. The difference between my cake and Wal-Mart's cake can be likened to the difference between custom garments and off-the-rack clothes. Say you went to a seamstress, consulted with her about the perfect fabric and cut for your body type, discussed your coloring, took measurements, went back for several fittings, and in the end had an exquisite dress, hand-made with excruciating attention to detail, perfect for your body and your coloring. When the seamstress required payment, you would not tell her that a Wal-Mart dress costs $14.99, so that's all you should pay. The two products are not comparable. 

3. How do I order a cake?
To start the order process, please send an email to cmeventcoordinator@yahoo.com containing all the following information:  -the date of your event  -the occasion/nature of your event (wedding, bat mitzvah, etc)  -the event location, delivery address, and delivery time  -how many people you will need to serve  -your daytime phone number  -your email address  -an idea of what kind of cake design you are looking fo We will contact you to to discuss your order.

4. What's your payment policy?
A 40% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your order; the remainder is due at least two weeks prior to your event. Your order is not confirmed until we have received your signed contract and 40% non-refundable deposit. Payment can be made by cash or check. Specialty custom cake orders placed with less than two weeks notice require payment in full at the time of ordering. Deposits are non-refundable.  Event dates are held for you through the date of your appointment or quote, and five (5) business days afterwards. If we do not receive a signed contract and 50% deposit within five (5) business days of your appointment or quote, your date may become unavailable. 

5. Do you deliver?
Delivery is available for any cake at the moment.  We do not ship our cakes at this time.  Delivery fees are calculated by distance traveled and is FREE within 10 miles of 85226.  Longer deliveries are an additional moderate fee.  While it is generally not a problem for clients to transport smaller cakes, self-transporting any cake is at your own risk. AZ Cake Diva does not recommend clients self-transport 3D/sculptural cakes, specialty custom cakes over 2 tiers tall, or any custom cake more than 3 hours and is not responsible for any damage that may occur to any client-transported cake once it has left our Phoenix bakery. 

6. What is your favorite cake flavor?
To be honest my favorite flavor is changing all the time, however at the moment my favorite flavor I would have to say is Banana Cake with Banana Cream filling.

7. How far in advance should I place a birthday cake order?
Any special all occasion cakes with basic designs or a photo should be ordered 2-3 weeks before your occasion, however if you have less time still shoot us an email and we will see if we can get it in.  8. How far ahead should I make my wedding cake appointment? We suggest you call to book your appointment a 3-4 weeks before you would like to have your tasting, and plan on about 6-8 months before your occasion.
